SAP has named Karl Fahrbach (pictured) as the software giant's new channel boss.
Fahrbach was previously the COO for the German firm's global partner organisation, and also led its VAR channel.
He is taking the reins from Rodolpho Cardenuto, who left the business in December last year to become SVP sales of US mixed reality start-up Magic Leap.
In announcing the update its channel leadership SAP highlighted the importance of its channel to its top line.
"IDC estimates SAP's partner economy to be about $100bn and projects that to double over the next five years," the company said in a statement.
SAP says one of Fahrback's priorities will be to enable partners to innovate and develop their own IP on the SAP Cloud Platform.
Executive board member Adaire Fox-Martin added: "SAP and our partners are absolutely focused on identifying new opportunities with customers by moving from SAP-led application value to partner-led customer innovation," he said.
"We are setting the foundation that will enable SAP partners to contribute more value to the future of business through our technology."
