Japanese telco NTT has closed its acquisition of one of Europe's highest-certified public cloud partners - Capside.
The managed services arm of NTT - NTT Com Managed Services - has acquired 100 per cent of the Barcelona-based firm for an undisclosed sum.
Capside is one of just 49 firms to have obtained Microsoft's Azure Expert MSP status. It's also a Premier-level AWS partner as well as a Google Cloud Platform partner. Capside was recently ranked 20th on CPI's list of the 35 highest-certified public cloud providers in Europe.
Aside from its Barcelona headquarters, Capside runs offices in Madrid, London and Lisbon. It claims to offer integrated managed services in Europe, and has designed and operated cloud architectures for customers including Carrefour, Barcelona Football Club and Vueling.
NTT plans to run the Capside business as an independent entity. The Spanish firm will be able to expand its service offering as part of NTT, and will be able to offer value-added datacentre and hybrid solutions to its existing clients.
NTT entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Capside on 30 May.
"This is an exciting time for Capside, our clients, and partners. NTT shares our values of quality, innovation, and superior customer service. Our goal is to continue to build "Capside, an NTT Communications Company" into the best hyperscale cloud managed services company in the industry," said Capside CEO Josep Ruano in a statement.
