Westcon-Comstor has appointed a new boss for its recently created Next Generation Solutions (NGS) EMEA distribution business, to focus on emerging technology driven by "born in the cloud" vendors and partners.
Geert Busse will become the business development lead for the VAD's Security Division, which was established in September, alongside a second new unit: the Communications Division.
The $2.5bn-revenue US distributor claims its EMEA business restructure includes a new sales team for each unit and increased go-to-market engagement with emerging and niche security vendors
Westcon EMEA cyber security & next Generation solutions VP, Daniel Hurel, said the new unit is part of a strategy to differentiate Westcon in the market.
"This is a significant addition to our team in EMEA at a time of great opportunity for growth," he said.
"Geert has built his career from the outset in technology business development and has always been at the forefront of the security market.
"Most recently he has been responsible for successfully driving our solutions selling approach in the Benelux region. In this new role, Geert will bring his significant experience to develop our NGS business development capabilities in EMEA."
