Supercomputing surge salves server space

IDC figures show comparatively buoyant HPC sector

IDC has reported that the high-performance computing (HPC) technical server market grew 3.9 per cent annually in Q3 2016, compared to Q3 of last year. According to IDC's Worldwide High-Performance Technical Server QView, the market reached a worth of $2.8bn (€2.7bn) in the quarter, compared to the $2.7 billion it saw in Q3 2015.
