Swiss distribution heavyweight ALSO has acquired value-added player Dicom as it looks to grow its services and solutions business in Austria.
Based in the town of Guntramsdorf, about 22 kilometres south of Vienna, Dicom offers products and services from vendors including Fujitsu, Sophos, Lancom and Citrix.
The firm has been in business for almost 30 years and turned over €30m in its 2018/2019 financial year, according to ALSO.
ALSO claims the acquisition will give it access to new B2B and public sector customers in Austria.
Dicom will expand ALSO's cloud and hybrid solutions business, and will add key skills around designing and installing IT infrastructures, ALSO claims.
In addition, the acquisition will also add new vendor names to ALSO's business in Austria.
"The company's profile fits perfectly into our Solutions business model and will continue to drive ALSO forward in this area. We have the same mind-set and are therefore convinced that the integration will proceed very quickly and successfully," said Gustavo Möller-Hergt, CEO of ALSO.
The deal is still subject to regulatory approvals.
The Dicom purchase marks ALSO's first acquisition of this year. ALSO has been uncharacteristically quiet on the M&A front in 2020 after a busy period of acquisitions in 2018 and 2019.
The industry heavyweight has been actively consolidating the central and eastern European distribution market over recent years - buying Croatian leader RECRO, €110m-revenue Bulgarian player Solyron and DISS Group in Slovenia.
The Swiss firm also swooped on Poland's largest distributor ABC Data last year, giving it an extra €1bn in revenues across six CEE countries.
ALSO merged the ABC Data operations into its own Polish business at the beginning of this year.
Despite its lower M&A tally so far this year, ALSO is bullish in continuing its acquisition streak to expand its geographic and product footprint.
The firm landed a €300m credit facility from eight banks in November to fuel M&A across EMEA. In its latest financial results for H1, ALSO claimed that it hasn't touched the €300m money mountain during the COVID-19 pandemic.
