Local union claims Big Blue is going ahead with huge workforce cuts next quarter

IBM is poised to cut more than 2,300 jobs in Germany next quarter, according to workers union Ver.di. The union says it met with representatives from IBM on 28 October to deliver the news of its restructuring plans. "We reject the massive job cuts that have now been announced," the union said in a statement. Ver.di is Germany's second-largest trade union. It claims to represent over two million members.
