Vendor confirms its US-East-1 region went down yesterday, with websites and apps affected across the US eastern seaboard

An AWS outage has brought down websites and apps across the east coast of the US ahead of Thanksgiving. The outage, which hit AWS' US-East-1 region in Virginia, affected some 28 AWS products from AWS Kinesis Data Streams to Worskpaces. We're currently experiencing increased error rates for Kinesis Data Streams within our US-EAST-1 Region, affecting other services within the region.
