The application delivery vendor says investment in edge solutions is necessary to avoid being left behind

F5 Networks has today announced it will acquire US cloud computing start-up Volterra for $500m (€409.04m). The $11.94bn US software defined application vendor called the move necessary to remain competitive in the edge solutions market.
