Webroot+Carbonite's product marketing director George Anderson shared his views on what the threat landscape means for partners in this video Q&A, as part of CPI's Inside Track Europe event for MSPs.

He talked about the proliferation of phishing and ransomware, as a norm. As well as how major, high-profile breaches - like the REvil Ransomware Attack on Kaseya - is changing expectations around accountability from end users.

"I know large companies with very sophisticated security teams who still get breached," Anderson said.

"There is lots of evidence and recent reports that suggests that 67 per cent of people who felt that if they are breached because of a relationship they had with a MSP or a supplier vendor, they would consider leaving."

"When you look, dare I say it, at Kaseya and their situation at the moment as well, all of that plays very heavily on the end user's mind on do they want to be there."

A true trusted in advisor in a turbulent security landscape

With an estimated 87 per cent of breaches down to human error, the market is still wide open to MSPs to offer a helping hand, and the reassurance of guidance from a trusted advisor.

"Companies have got to think 'I will be compromised and how can I best protect myself?'

"They need to really understand where their data assets and their systems assets live. And look at if that disappeared in some way, how quickly could they recover and get back from that to do something about it...There are lots of opportunities for partners there."

CPI Inside Track Europe - 22 September

The event will be a half day, one-stop-shop for partners looking to keep up to date on the latest trends and opportunities in managed services, with a particular focus on the cybersecurity market.

Tune in to hear from leading players in the market on what is shaping procurement decisions, what are the key trends upending the way threats are managed, and what end-users are weighing up as they decide their spending priorities for the next "new normal".

There will be an in-depth documentary on cybersecurity, and 'fireside chat' editorial panel discussions between competitors in the market filmed in our London Covent Garden studio.

Check back over the coming weeks to get more information on how to register, and which partners will feature in the editorial studio panels.
