AWS research claims its cloud storage is more sustainable than on-prem alternatives

Businesses in Europe can lower energy use by nearly 80 per cent when running applications through AWS Cloud instead of operating their own data centres, according to a new report by global firm 451 Research.  The report, commissioned by AWS, surveyed senior stakeholders at more than 300 companies across a range of industries in France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, and Sweden operating their own data centres.
