
Broadcom announced it has reached an agreement to acquire VMware for $61bn. The acquisition will see the chipmaker giant acquire all of the outstanding shares of VMware in a cash-and-stock transaction. Reports of the deal surfaced earlier this week and was confirmed by the two companies in a statement on Thursday.
