ALSO has installed fresh management at the top of its French subsidiary as the distributor begins its next phase of expansion.
Guillaume du Roure took over as managing director and chief customer officer (CCO) of ALSO France last Friday, having previously headed up ALSO's French reseller arm LAFI.
Marc Hia Baile will take over as LAFI's managing director on 11 February, replacing du Roure, while former managing director of ALSO France, Laurent Mitais, has already moved to a group-wide role as senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions. He will play a key role in leading "a large number" of M&A projects within the group.
ALSO chief executive Gustavo Möller-Hergt said the management rejig will encourage further business expansion in France among its reseller base.
"For us, France is an important market in which we want to grow sustainably with our ICT services in the coming years. That's why we are reshaping our organisation," he said.
"In particular, we want to continuously expand our business activities in co-operation with our resellers in order to serve existing and new customers even more efficiently."
ALSO has never been shy of making drastic changes to its senior leadership team. The Switzerland-based distributor overhauled its group-level management structure last year, which led to the departure of Ole Eklund, its VP for northern and eastern Europe. The change means that country managers now report directly to CEO Möller-Hergt.
The distributor also added three new senior positions to its Benelux business last year: senior VP of sales, commercial director and director of e-commerce and marketing.
ALSO is vying to become the largest or second-largest distributor in all the markets in which it operates and today claims to hold the number-one or number-two spot in 10 out of its 15 countries. According to CPI research last year, ALSO is currently the third-largest player in France behind Ingram Micro and Tech Data.
