Recent threat reports charted a fall in malware and ransomware levels in 2018.
But experts we caught up with at Infosecurity Europe 2019 claim the threat level is higher than ever, warning that attack vectors are only expanding.
"Attackers are just moving it onto other, easier targets and using cyptojacking as their latest easy option to make money," David Gray, incident response practice lead EMEA at security VAD NTT Security, says in the video.
"Although ransomware may be down, ransomware is unique in that it waves at you and tells you it's there. What we're seeing is a massive increase in emotet, and other insidious types of malware," adds Fraser Kyne, EMEA CTO at Bromium.
