The UK's top 350 IT resellers and MSPs generated combined revenue of nearly £22bn in their latest years on record.

That's according to the latest edition of VAR 350, an annual supplement mapping the front-line UK channel.

Together, the 350 firms featured in the report sell, install and manage the lion's share of the IT, software and cloud services consumed by UK businesses and public sector organisations each year.

Any vendor wishing to widen its UK footprint must first win over this troupe of enormously influential trusted advisors, from £1.7bn-revenue juggernaut Computacenter all the way down to the £5m-£10m specialist providers that tail the rankings.

Looking at their latest filed accounts, they saw combined revenues soar 7.8 per cent to £21.9bn.

Their average gross profits and net profits were also up, albeit marginally.

VAR 350 represents the most comprehensive attempt ever to map the UK channel, and this year it is packed full of even more information and analysis.­­

It ranks and profiles the top resellers and MSPs on our radar and analyses how they are performing as a group, and also examines how Covid has impacted their fortunes.

While many are generalists selling a wide range of enterprise technology, over 150 have a laser focus on disciplines such as cybersecurity, managed print, ERP software, audio visual and unified comms.
