Italy's Esprinet closes Q1 2022 above expectations despite suffering top and bottom line drop

Italian distributor Esprinet has posted a loss in its first quarter 2022 financial results.  Sales dipped two per cent in Q1 to €1.1bn while EBIT also dropped six per cent year on year to €15.6m.  Despite the decline, Esprinet CEO Alessandro Cattani remained optimistic, stating the group ended Q1 with profitability above expectations in the face of "serious inconsistencies" in the economic and geopolitical context.
