The European Elite 2018: Why are Chinese vendors flocking to CEE?

clock

For the CEE section of our roundtable discussion, our panellists exchange ideas on why Chinese vendors are flocking to CEE, and whether the region is becoming more than just a nearshoring location

Although often percieved as a nearshoring option for multinational businesses, central and eastern Europe has become a thriving market for Chinese vendors such as Xiaomi and Huawei to make a mark in Europe.

CEE consumers are often drawn to the cheaper options on offer from such players, with cloud provider Alibaba also recently stepping into the region through a partnership with distributor ABC Data.

Our panellists - as part of our European Elite project in association with Agilitas - exchange ideas on what's behind the surge in interest from vendors in central and eastern Europe, and what knock-on effects this could cause for the channel.

You can watch the full video for the CEE region here.

Ricoh's EMEA services director Dan Davies suggests that CEE is becoming amore important region for his company, and offers some of the best engineers for niche software from vendors such as SAP.

The discussion is part of CPI's European Elite project, in association with Agilitas, a comprehensive guide to the largest channel partners in Europe.
