Hitachi has revealed its plans to acquire US services consultancy GlobalLogic in a deal that is expected to cost $9.6bn ( €8.19bn). The acquisition will ramp up the Japanese conglomerate's efforts in becoming a "leading digital transformation innovator" in infrastructure worldwide. The Silicon Valley-headquartered company has a headcount of more than 20,000 professionals in 14 countries.
